I’m excited to share that I’ve partnered with CollabWORK, a community-powered hiring platform.
I met Summer Delaney, the founder and CEO of CollabWORK, at a conference a couple of weeks ago, and I was immediately impressed by the company's mission.
“CollabWORK was born from a single insight: Connections open doors.” I couldn’t agree more.
This principle has been central to my writing for years. Rather than rehashing past articles (like one I published in 2023 on this topic), I'm now focusing on something more tangible—the specific positions companies are trying to fill.
These job postings show the real challenges organizations face today and spotlight the transformation happening in the job market.
After receiving such positive feedback when I featured job postings with analysis in the previous issue of FutureSkill, I'm expanding this approach.
My partnership with CollabWORK now gives me access to hundreds of positions as they are posted, and I spend a few minutes a day exploring listings that catch my eye.
Today, I’ll highlight three roles that I thought were interesting for different reasons:
Director of Travel Product Development & Experiences at Winspire
Associate Director Of Development, International & Major Gifts at Project Sunshine
Private Equity Associate at The Consello Group
This is the kind of role most business graduates aspire to:
You will be immersed in the full spectrum of private equity activities, working side by side with senior investment professionals and providing integral insights that guide the firm’s investment decisions.
The qualifications align with the substantial $125K-$175K salary range:
2–4 years of experience at a top investment bank, leading consultancy, or other premier post-undergraduate firm / program.
However, I'm concerned about the future of these positions. Consider the requirements:
Conduct in-depth commercial, financial, and operational due diligence, including market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and assessment of key risks and opportunities
Prepare and present detailed investment memos outlining potential risks and returns to senior leadership and investment committees
Develop and maintain comprehensive models to assess target company performance, forecast returns, and evaluate potential exit strategies
Stay current on industry trends, economic developments, and capital market dynamics; share insights that enhance the firm’s investment strategy
This sounds impressive until you witness what ChatGPT Deep Research and Stanford STORM can accomplish. I learned about STORM from Max Bernstein recently, and it was mind-blowing to see AI produce in seconds what would take a person days.
These tools can now analyze market trends across thousands of data points, compile competitor benchmarking reports, and even draft preliminary investment memos with minimal human input.
I'm not predicting the disappearance of private equity associates, but these roles will undoubtedly transform in the near future.
The most successful associates will likely become AI-collaboration experts, focusing less on data gathering and more on relationship management and judgment calls that AI can't make.
Director of Travel Product Development & Experiences at Winspire
I wasn't familiar with Winspire before discovering this listing, but I'm now a huge fan. Their value proposition is brilliant in an era when so many look for unique experiences:
Winspire is a leading provider of unique, high-end experiences for charity fundraisers, offering customized travel packages and memorable activities that support nonprofit initiatives.
Browsing their website made me eager to travel to one of their destinations. Their offerings include everything from exclusive winery tours in Napa Valley to VIP sports experiences and luxury European getaways, all designed to be auctioned at charity events.
I would love to go to Machu Picchu!
They want someone with 10 years of experience in the travel industry. For the right person, this remote position could be fantastic:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the travel industry with a deep understanding of unique travel products and experiences.
A strong network within the travel industry, leveraging these connections to build lasting partnerships and secure the best rates.
Associate Director Of Development, International & Major Gifts at Project Sunshine
This nonprofit position stands out because of the organization's inspiring mission:
Project Sunshine’s mission is to bring the healing power of play to children with medical needs through trained and dedicated volunteers.
Their impact is remarkable:
You can sense the positive influence this role would have:
The Associate Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing Project Sunshine’s international fundraising efforts for Canada, Israel, and Kenya, including identifying, applying for and managing grants, major gift work, and annual appeals.
This position also highlights a skill that will grow increasingly valuable across industries:
The ideal candidate will be a skilled relationship-builder.
What These Jobs Tell Us About the Future
Looking at these three positions side by side reveals an interesting pattern: while AI and automation may disrupt analytical roles like the Private Equity Associate, jobs centered around human connection, creativity, and relationship-building (like the Winspire and Project Sunshine positions) seem more resilient to technological change.
As I continue experimenting with this format, I'd love to know what jobs you'd like to see highlighted in future newsletters. What questions do you have as work transformation accelerates?
If you've spotted interesting job postings that signal where your industry is headed, please share them with me. They might be featured in an upcoming issue of FutureSkill.
Until next time,
